About: Set deep in the heart of the Avon River valley, surrounded by acres of woodland and lush meadow walks, is Hazelwood, an early Victorian country house.

With 14 bedrooms in total, the first floor has 7 en-suite rooms, some with stunning valley views and all with flat screen TVs.

The top floor rooms all share bathrooms, but are comfortable and warm, many with even better views over the valley below.

Talented young Chef, Chris Scantlebury welcomes you to Hazelwood restaurant with a menu that changes daily, using the finest local and organic produce wherever possible. The restaurant is open to residents and non-residents for lunch, dinner and homemade cream teas. Booking is essential.

Summers can be spent on the blossom filled veranda sipping tea and relaxing, whilst crackling log fires and cosy candlelight, keep out the cold.

A popular venue for civil ceremonies, concerts and workshops, the list of events carries on throughout the year. Celebrations of all kind are welcome, be it small, large, formal or informal.

The house has a gentle elegance and warming atmosphere.

Access to the A38, and market towns of Totnes and Kingsbridge are nearby. Dartmoor and award winning beaches are within half an hours drive.

Booking is essential for accommodation and dining, so whether it’s a cream tea you’re after or a superb 3-course meal we can provide a sumptuous place to just come and be.
