Teignmouth, aptly described as the Jewel of Devon, is a characterful seaside town and one of few that still has its traditional Victorian pier. The pedestrianised, level town centre has an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and patisseries. Enjoy a stroll along the promenade and admire the well-maintained Victorian facades. Follow the promenade to the east , from which the distinctive iron-oxide rich red rocks rise up to form the steep cliffs ,and you will be walking alongside the route of Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s Atmospheric railway . The quaint and cosy village of Shaldon lies to the west and can be reached either via the bridge or via the historic Teign pedestrian ferry.
Minadab Cottage is a charming bed and breakfast with colourful gardens and plenty of parking. Once inside , the character and warmth of this historic home encourages you to relax and enjoy your stay.
In tribute to the successful naval career of the original owner of Minadab, Commander Robert Benjamin Young, the rooms take their names from ships in Nelson’s fleet.
